Sheet metal refers to thin, flat pieces of metal. The most common types of sheet metal are aluminium, steel, copper, zinc, tin, gold, silver and brass. Below are the uses of sheet metal.

Construction industry. 

The uses of sheet metal in the construction industry include:

Roofing. Corrugated iron, zinc, copper and steel sheets are used in roofing houses. They are resistant to rust and lighter than slate and ceramic roofing.

Doors and gates. Steel sheets are popular in the making of doors and gates. They are resistant to corrosion and are hence considered durable.
